First professional glimpse

Well, Draven and Ally's story is getting looked at, for the first time, by a Publisher. I'm really excited that the Publisher has read the query letter, synopsis, and first three chapters, and liked the story/characters enough to request the full.
So boys, you better shine for the professionals. I know you will though. How can you not?

And on to the 3rd

Today marks the day that I'm starting to write the third novel in the Immortal Guardians series. My boys have been very patient with me lately since I started writing a YA book. Most likely I'll work on both books, since sometimes I'm motivated to write the other book, and sometimes the boys are screaming too loudly in my head, so I can't work on anything BUT them. (Ahem.)

I'm not saying who the third book is about yet, since I spoiled it on the 2nd one. So those of you who have read/are reading my books, you'll just have to be patient. But, I can say, from what I've seen of this next book, you won't be dissapointed!

Waiting for feedback

Well, Raider and I are waiting oh, so patiently for some feedback. So far, one person has read his novel and she said that she really enjoyed it. I now have it out to three other ladies, and I can't wait for feedback. Since they read romance novels, I'm sure they'll have feedback for me. Even if its negative feedback, at least I'll know what I need to work on.

So, Raider and I will just continue to wait, twittling our thumbs until we hear something. At least he'll let me work on other novels in the meantime.

Woo-hoo Raider

Well, I'm proud to say that I have completed writing Raider's book. I still need to go back through and read it, likely edit it, but I'm so excited that I've finished his book! I started writing it in January, so it only took me 7 months. If I can improve, I'm pretty sure I can write 2 books a year--that would make my Guardians pretty happy, and hopefully I can keep up with their stories!!

Up for some close inspection

Well, Raider and Draven should be pretty pleased with themselves, or maybe even nervous (if they can even be nervous). I just submitted their stories in a Writer's Contest that the Utah RWA is holding, as well as the in the Golden Pen. I'm not going to lie, I feel sick to my stomach. I only hope that I wrote my boys' stories well and that the judges will love them every bit as much as I do. They are, after all, the first Immortal Guardians to go public.

So good luck Draven and Raider. I hope I did you proud!

Reached my goal

I set a goal for this weekend to write 5,000 words in the 2nd Immortal Guardian's book. I'm so excited to say that I did it! The awesome part about reaching my goal is that I didn't just write about the two main characters for this book. So many different characters jumped in and had me write about them, and since I have so many characters to follow, I think it is flowing well. My only fear is that I'm jumping around too much, but I won't know that until I have someone read it. We're getting close, boys!

Raider's book is well on its way

I finally broke 60,000 words which means I'm getting close. On Draven's book, I originally stopped writing at 80,000 words, but then went on to add more detail in. We'll see what happens this time around.

Since there are so many guys within the brotherhood of the Immortal Guardians, that means there are a lot of people to write about. What's been motivating me the last few days is the 'sub story' within Raider's book. So instead of focusing on Raider specifically, I've been focusing on the.... other. :o)

Equal time? I'm trying!

Everyone wants my attention. Sheesh. I'm re-editing Draven's book, while trying to also write Raider's. I just spent about four hours working on Draven and decided I'd better stop for the night. So, I closed down his book and opened up Raider's. In opening his book, I realized that its been 2 1/2 weeks since I've done anything with his book. Poor Raider! I feel so bad that I haven't been working on his, so I'm going to work on his for a few more hours tonight. Here we go Raider, I hope I do you proud!

Raider, Raider, Raider

Raider and Draven are stilly vying for my attention, so I figured that I'd split my time between them. Another of my boys is starting to push for my attention as well (of course, I think thats because his story runs parallel to Raiders), so I need to get my act in gear. If only there were more hours in the day to devote to my boys. I guess I'll have to make sure I actually take a full hour for lunch every day if I have any hopes of catching up. Who knows if my boys will wait around forever.

So, I thought I was done

Alright, I thought I was done with Draven and Ally's book when I finished my editing it a few months ago, but I guess I was wrong. I started reading through it again and keep finding things I want to add or change. So, instead of continuing with writing Book #2, Draven seems to be winning in the fight for my attention at the moment. Hopefully I can finish it (again) so that it feels and flows the way its meant to. Once its ready, I'll probably hand it off to another set of eyes to see what they think. Still hoping that one of the agents I've submitted a query to see the potential in my boys. :o)

Dark Seduction: The First Novel of the Immortal Guardians

Ally Stanford thought herself an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. But her life begins to unravel when she finds out that nothing is what it seems. Not only was her family not truly hers, but they had died to protect her from those who pursued her. At her lowest point, when she feels completely alone, an unexpected stranger enters her life offering protection and compassion. Ally finds herself thrown into a world beyond her wildest imagination, where mythical creatures not only exist, but actually thrive—hidden from human knowledge. She learns that her dark savior is a vampire-valkyrie hybrid, the first male ever born to a valkyrie. She discovers that each of his warrior brethren are unique as well; some, demons she’d never thought existed. With the help of the alluring stranger, Ally uncovers the truth about her existence. Although the odds are against them, they work together so her destiny can be fulfilled.

As next in line for the vampire crown, Draven is also a warrior within a legendary band of brothers known as the Guardians. His strength and fighting skills are revered, making him a powerful ally in the war to protect the innocent. Ever since his fated female was lost to him a century ago, he’s floated through life—enjoying nothing—until he can find his way to her again. The only existence he allows himself is comprised of fighting the Collective, a demonic organization that is out to destroy humanity. Both the Collective and the Guardians are on the hunt for a prophesied essence that could turn the tables in their war. When he discovers a young woman who has been targeted by his enemies, every instinct in him demands he protect her from their clutches. But what he doesn’t expect is that his heart would be in hers.
